Who this notice covers

  1. This notice is issued by Skill Link Tech Private Limited (“SLT”, “we”, “us”), a company incorporated in India, GSTIN 33AAKCR3399G1Z2, registered office O. No. 25, N. No. 36, Chakrapani Street Extension, Rangarajapuram, Kodambakkam, Chennai 600024, Tamil Nadu, India.
  2. It applies to everyone whose personal data we handle: applicants and enrolled learners, parents or guardians where a learner is a minor, faculty and staff of partner institutions, contacts at industry and hiring partners, visitors to our premises, and visitors to this website.
  3. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the rules made under it, SLT is the Data Fiduciary in respect of that data, and you are the Data Principal.
  4. Where we deliver a programme inside a college or a company, that institution may also hold your data in its own right and under its own notice. This notice covers what we do, not what they do.

What we collect

We collect only what a training and placement operation actually needs.

Identity and contact
Name, date of birth, gender where you choose to state it, photograph for the identity card and certificate, postal address, email address, telephone number, and an emergency contact.
Education and employment
Institution, course, year, marks or grade sheets, prior certifications, curriculum vitae, and work history where relevant to the programme.
Assessment and progress
Diagnostic test results, attendance, weekly submissions, critique notes, project artefacts, examination and defence outcomes, and certificate records.
Financial
Fee invoices and receipts, payment references, and where a refund is claimed, the bank particulars needed to make it. Card and net-banking credentials are handled by the payment gateway and never reach us.
Statutory identifiers
PAN or GSTIN for invoicing where required, and government identity numbers only where a scheme, examination body or client mandates them. We do not collect Aadhaar or any other identifier unless a specific requirement obliges us to, and we record why when we do.
Premises and equipment
Visitor register entries, access-card logs, CCTV footage of common and lab areas, and bench or workstation login records.
Technical
Website usage data as described in clause 06.
Note

We do not knowingly collect caste, religion, political opinion, sexual orientation, biometric or health data, except where a learner voluntarily discloses a health condition or disability so that we can make a reasonable adjustment on the bench or in an assessment. That disclosure is kept restricted to the trainer and lab technician who need it.

Where it comes from

  1. Directly from you — the enquiry form on this website, an application form, the diagnostic, and everything you submit during a programme.
  2. From your institution, where you are enrolled through a college or polytechnic under a training partnership.
  3. From your employer, where you are nominated into a closed corporate cohort.
  4. From a parent or guardian, where you are under 18.
  5. Generated by us — attendance, assessment records, trainer observations, and the certificate register.

Why we use it

  1. To decide on and process your application — screening, diagnostic scoring, seat allocation, and issuing an offer.
  2. To deliver the programme — scheduling, bench allocation, attendance, assessment, critique, and safety supervision in the lab.
  3. To bill and account — invoices, receipts, refunds, tax filings and audit.
  4. To certify — producing certificates and answering verification requests about a certificate that we have issued.
  5. To provide placement support — portfolio review, and, where you have separately agreed to it, sharing your profile with hiring partners under clause 05.
  6. To follow up on outcomes — the three, six and twelve month exit reviews, and the aggregate figures we publish. Published figures are always aggregate; no individual is identifiable in them.
  7. To keep people and equipment safe — access control, CCTV, and incident records.
  8. To meet legal obligations — company, tax and labour records, and responding to a lawful request from an authority.
  9. To tell you about programmes — only where you have asked to hear from us, and with an unsubscribe instruction on every message.
  10. We process on the basis of your consent, or where the processing is for a legitimate use permitted by law — for example, where you have voluntarily given us data for a specified purpose and have not withdrawn that consent, or where we must comply with a legal obligation. We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces a legal effect on you, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

  1. Hiring partners. We share a learner profile — typically the CV, portfolio artefacts and certification status — only after you have opted in to placement support, and only with partners you have been told about. You may withdraw that opt-in at any time; withdrawal does not affect a share already made.
  2. Your institution or employer, where they have sponsored or nominated you: attendance, progress and completion status, in the form set out in our agreement with them.
  3. Processors acting on our instructions — hosting, email, learning platform, payment gateway, accounting and analytics providers. They are bound by contract to use the data only for our purposes and to protect it.
  4. Examination and certification bodies, where a programme leads to a third-party certification you have chosen to sit.
  5. Professional advisers, auditors, insurers and, where the law requires it, courts, regulators and law-enforcement agencies.
  6. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

This website

  1. The enquiry form on this website collects the fields shown on it. We use them to answer your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to send you programme information.
  2. This site sets no advertising or profiling cookies. Any strictly necessary cookie exists only to make the page work.
  3. Where we use a website analytics service, it is configured to measure traffic in aggregate. Our web host and analytics provider record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and pages viewed.
  4. The site loads a webfont from a third-party font service, which means your browser makes a request to that service. If you would rather it did not, the fonts can be self-hosted on request.
  5. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience. Their privacy practices are their own.

Labs, cameras and logs

  1. Lab and common areas are under CCTV surveillance for safety and equipment security. Signage is displayed at the entrance to every covered area. There are no cameras in washrooms or changing areas.
  2. Footage is retained for the period stated in clause 08 and is viewed only on a specific incident, by authorised staff.
  3. Bench workstations log the account in use and the sessions run on them, so that equipment faults and safety incidents can be traced.

How long we keep it

Website analytics14 monthsYear-on-year traffic comparison

At the end of the period the record is deleted, or irreversibly anonymised where we need to keep the statistic but not the person.

How we protect it

  1. Access is granted on need — a trainer sees their own cohort, accounts sees invoices, and nobody sees everything by default.
  2. Systems holding personal data require individual accounts with multi-factor authentication. Shared logins are not permitted.
  3. Data in transit is encrypted. Backups are encrypted and tested by restore drill.
  4. Paper records are held in locked storage and destroyed by shredding.
  5. Staff and trainers are bound by confidentiality terms and are briefed on this notice on joining.
  6. If a personal data breach occurs, we will act on it immediately, notify every affected Data Principal, and the authority where the law requires it, in the manner and within the time prescribed, and tell you plainly what happened and what to do.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

  1. Ask what we hold — a summary of your personal data, what we are doing with it, and who we have shared it with.
  2. Have it corrected or completed where it is wrong or out of date.
  3. Have it erased where we no longer need it for the purpose it was collected for and no law requires us to keep it. A certificate register entry cannot be erased, because a certificate that cannot be verified is worthless.
  4. Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. We will stop the processing that relied on it. Withdrawal does not undo processing already carried out lawfully, and it may mean we can no longer deliver part of a service — placement introductions, for instance.
  5. Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
  6. To exercise any of these, write to us at the address in clause 14. We will acknowledge within two working days and respond substantively within thirty days. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act, and we will tell you if a request is one we are not able to comply with, and why.

Learners under 18

  1. Some of our campus programmes admit learners who are under 18. Where that is the case we obtain verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before enrolment, in the manner required by law.
  2. We do not undertake tracking or behavioural monitoring of a child, and we do not direct advertising at children.
  3. A parent or guardian may exercise every right in clause 10 on the learner's behalf.

Transfers outside India

  1. Our records are held in India. Some of our processors — email, hosting or analytics — may store or process data outside India.
  2. Where that happens we transfer only to countries not restricted by the Central Government for such transfer, and we require the processor by contract to give the data the same protection it would have here.

Changes to this notice

  1. We revise this notice when what we do changes. Every revision is numbered and dated in the control block at the head of this page.
  2. Where a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell enrolled learners and active partners directly, and where the law requires it, we will ask for consent again.

How to reach us

Any question or request about your personal data comes to the same place.

The Skillifyedu platform

Skillifyedu is our online platform. It is operated by Skill Link Tech Private Limited and this notice covers it. Holding an account there means some of the following also applies to you.

  1. The platform collects what you give it at registration and checkout — name, address, email, telephone, billing details, educational background and workplace information — along with usage data, IP address, browser type, access times and referring site.
  2. If you sign in with a third-party account such as Google, the platform stores the name, email and telephone number that account releases, with your consent.
  3. Payments are processed by third-party gateways. Card and net-banking credentials are handled by them and do not reach us; we hold the transaction reference and the invoice.
  4. A platform account may be opened by anyone aged 13 or above. Where the account holder is under 18, clause 11 applies: we require verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not knowingly take payment information from a child.
  5. A creator account additionally holds the material you publish, the payout details you give us, and the sales record for your courses.
  6. Every right in clause 10 applies to platform data exactly as it does to the rest, and comes to the same address in clause 14.
