Refund Policy
A seat held for you is a seat nobody else can take, and a lab bench costs the same whether or not you are standing at it. This policy sets out exactly what comes back, when, and how — with the arithmetic on the page rather than behind a phone call.
Scope
- This policy applies to fees paid to Skill Link Tech Private Limited by an individual learner for a programme listed on the programme ledger.
- Institutional and corporate engagements are governed by clause 10 and by the signed agreement for that engagement.
- This policy is part of the terms and conditions. Words defined there have the same meaning here.
- All periods below are counted from the scheduled commencement date of your cohort as stated in your offer, not from the date you first attend.
Fee components
Every offer breaks the fee into these components. The refund schedule applies to them differently, so the split matters.
| Component | Covers | Refundable |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Application processing, diagnostic, seat allocation and enrolment | No — except under clause 03 and clause 07 |
| Tuition | Contact hours, trainer time, critique and assessment | Yes — on the schedule in clause 04 |
| Lab and materials | Bench time, consumables, components and any kit issued to you | Pro-rata, less anything issued |
| Examination or certification | Fees paid by us to a third-party body on your behalf | Only if that body refunds us |
| Taxes | GST and any other statutory levy | Refunded in proportion to the refunded amount, subject to clause 05.4 |
Cooling-off period
- You may withdraw for any reason, without giving a reason, within seven calendar days of payment or before the end of the second scheduled session, whichever is earlier.
- A withdrawal within that window is refunded in full — including the registration component — less only the cost of any kit or material already issued to you and not returned in resaleable condition, and less payment gateway charges that the gateway does not return to us.
- The cooling-off period does not apply where the programme is shorter than two weeks in total, or where you have already sat the final assessment.
Refund schedule
Outside the cooling-off period, the tuition component is refunded on this schedule, by reference to when your written withdrawal reaches us.
| Written withdrawal received | Tuition refunded | Registration |
|---|---|---|
| 15 or more days before commencement | 100% | Retained |
| 1–14 days before commencement | 90% | Retained |
| During weeks 1–2 | 70% | Retained |
| During weeks 3–4 | 50% | Retained |
| During weeks 5–6 | 25% | Retained |
| After the end of week 6 | Nil | Retained |
- The lab and materials component is refunded pro-rata for bench weeks not yet begun, less the cost of consumables used and of any kit issued to you.
- A part week counts as a whole week.
- For a programme of twelve weeks or less, the week bands above are halved — weeks 1–2 becomes week 1, and so on.
- Non-attendance is not withdrawal. The schedule runs from the date your written withdrawal reaches us, not from the date you stopped attending.
Tuition ₹60,000, registration ₹5,000, lab and materials ₹15,000 across 8 bench weeks, kit issued ₹3,000. Withdrawal in week 3 of a 24-week programme: tuition refund 50% = ₹30,000; registration retained; lab component refunded for the 6 bench weeks not begun = ₹11,250, less kit ₹3,000 = ₹8,250. Total refunded ₹38,250 plus the GST charged on that amount.
What is not refunded
- The registration component, in every case except clause 03 and clause 07.
- Kit, components, tools and printed material issued to you and not returned unused and in resaleable condition within fifteen days of withdrawal.
- Examination or certification fees already remitted by us to a third-party body, unless that body refunds them to us, in which case we pass on what we receive.
- Payment gateway, bank transfer, foreign exchange and cheque return charges, and any tax that we have remitted and cannot recover.
- Amounts paid by a third party on your behalf are refunded to that third party, not to you.
Deferral and transfer
- Before withdrawing, ask about a deferral. A learner may defer once to the next available cohort of the same programme, free of charge, if the request reaches us before the end of week 4.
- A second deferral, or a deferral requested later than that, is at our discretion and carries an administration charge.
- A deferred seat must be taken within twelve months. If it is not, the enrolment lapses and the amount paid is treated as if withdrawal had occurred on the date the deferral was granted.
- You may transfer to a different programme of equal or greater fee, once, before the end of week 2, paying any difference. Transfers downward do not generate a refund of the difference.
- A seat may not be transferred to another person.
If we cancel
- If we cancel a cohort before it begins — because it did not reach its minimum size, or for any other reason — you receive a full refund of everything paid, including registration, or a credit against a future cohort, at your option.
- If we discontinue a cohort after it has begun, you receive a pro-rata refund for the part not delivered, with no deduction, and we will offer a place on the next equivalent cohort where one exists.
- Where clause 17 of the terms (force majeure) prevents delivery for more than sixty consecutive days and the sessions cannot be moved online or rescheduled, clause 07.2 applies.
- Rescheduling individual sessions, changing a trainer, or moving a session between on-site and remote delivery is not cancellation and does not create a refund.
Discounts and instalments
- A refund is always calculated on the amount actually received by us, not on the list price.
- Where a scholarship or discount was conditional on completing the programme, withdrawal forfeits it, and the refund is computed after adding the discount back to the amount due.
- Where you are on an instalment plan and withdraw, any instalment already due remains due up to the point of withdrawal as calculated under clause 04. If the amount retained under this policy exceeds what you have paid so far, the balance is payable.
How to claim
- Write to contact@skillifyedu.com from the email address on your enrolment, with your name, cohort, sheet number, invoice reference and the reason for withdrawal. A telephone call does not start the clock; the written request does.
- Attach the bank particulars for the refund where the original payment cannot be reversed to source.
- We acknowledge within two working days, confirm the computed amount within seven working days, and credit it within fourteen working days of your acceptance of that computation.
- Refunds are made to the original payment instrument wherever possible. Where they are not, they are made by bank transfer to an account in the payer's name.
- We do not make refunds in cash, and we do not refund to a third-party account.
| Step | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement | 2 working days |
| Computation confirmed | 7 working days |
| Amount credited | 14 working days from acceptance |
| Escalation closed | 15 working days |
Institutional and corporate
- Where an institution or a company has contracted with us for a cohort, the cancellation and refund terms of that agreement govern, and this policy does not apply.
- Where such an agreement is silent, the schedule in clause 04 applies to the contract value, and cancellation charges are calculated on the number of scheduled delivery days remaining.
- A sponsored learner who withdraws individually generates a refund to the sponsor, not to the learner, computed under clause 04.
No refund cases
- Enrolment terminated for cause under clause 12 of the terms — a serious breach of conduct, a safety breach, or misrepresentation at application.
- Withdrawal after the final assessment has been attempted.
- Dissatisfaction with a placement outcome. Fees buy the programme, not a job; see clause 08 of the terms.
- Failure to attend, where no written withdrawal was submitted.
Chargebacks
- If you dispute a payment with your card issuer or bank while a refund claim is open with us, we will suspend the claim and respond to the issuer instead.
- Raising a chargeback for an amount that is not refundable under this policy may lead to suspension of access pending resolution, and we will recover the costs of defending it where the dispute is decided in our favour.
If you disagree
- If you disagree with a refund computation, write to contact@skillifyedu.com within fifteen days of receiving it, setting out the figure you say is right and why.
- It is reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original computation, and answered within fifteen working days with the arithmetic written out.
- Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Skillifyedu purchases
A course bought online through the Skillifyedu platform is a different transaction from a seat on an instructor-led programme — the content is available the moment you pay. Clauses 03 to 09 above do not apply to it. This clause does.
- You may apply for a full refund at any point before the course starts. After it starts, refunds are limited to the scenarios in the schedule below.
- Requests must be made in writing to contact@skillifyedu.com from the email address on the account. Approved refunds are processed within 45 days of the request, less payment gateway charges. Registration and administrative fees are not refundable.
- Access to the course is withdrawn when a refund is approved.
| Scenario | Refund |
|---|---|
| Before the course starts | Full |
| Within week 1, two or fewer sessions attended (≤5% of the course) | 50% |
| Two or fewer sessions attended, more than a week since start | 20% |
| More than two weeks since start | 10% |
| More than a month since purchase, no content accessed | Nil |
| More than 10% of course content accessed, over more than a month | Nil |
